Editorial and Corrections Policy
Last updated: 10 October 2026
News7t publishes news, features and blog writing for readers in India and abroad. This page sets out the standards we try to meet and what you can do if we fall short.
Our standards
- Accuracy: we aim to check facts before publishing and to name our sources where we can.
- Fairness: people and organisations that are criticised in a story should have a fair chance to respond.
- Independence: advertisers, sponsors and partners do not decide what we report or how we report it.
- Clear labelling: opinion, blog writing and sponsored content are marked so that readers can tell them from news reporting.
- Respect for law and privacy: we avoid content that is defamatory, hateful, unlawfully invades privacy or incites violence.
Images and sources
We try to use images we are entitled to use and to credit them. Stories that rely on other outlets, agencies or official statements should say so. If you spot an uncredited or wrongly credited image, see our copyright page.
Corrections and updates
When we find a factual error we correct it promptly. Significant corrections are noted in the story. If a story is updated with new information we aim to say that it has been updated.
Report an error or make a complaint
Use the contact form and include the link to the story, what you believe is wrong, and what you think is right (with evidence if you have it). We acknowledge complaints and aim to respond, or tell you what we are doing about them, within 15 days. Requests about legal or privacy matters are handled with priority.
Grievance contact
Grievances about content published on News7t, including requests under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, can be raised through the contact form with the subject “Complaint”. Every complaint is recorded and reviewed by the editorial team.
Tips and contributions
We welcome tips, but we publish only what we are able to verify or clearly attribute.
